Take some of the weight off with furniture glides

Furniture bears a lot of weight, from heavy bookcases to sofas and chairs, each one will carry a substantial load that will put force on the legs and its interaction with the floor. Furniture glides are used to prevent excess friction between these two parts that will otherwise lead to scuffed or scratched floors, ripped and permanently dented carpets and damaged furniture legs. They also make it easier to move items, as they have a rounded bottom that will glide much more easily over the floor.

Common applications for furniture glides

A common application for furniture glides outside of the home is in municipal buildings where the chairs and tables are frequently rearranged. Schools use them to limit the amount of wear that happens throughout the day, and restaurants might fit them to their table legs to make them more secure and sturdy, or adjustable on uneven floors.
