Getting good threaded inserts

Threaded inserts are needed when fitting glides or levelers to a piece of furniture. This is to give the element something to grip onto and fit snugly into without having any space to move around. When there is some looseness to the bottom of a chair or table, this can create issues when weight is applied, or when the furniture is moved, as the glide can come loose and get damaged, or even damage the furniture.

Check the manufacturer of the threaded inserts

When buying threaded inserts, the consumer needs to make sure that they are getting them from a good supplier. The manufacturing process of the insert will indicate whether there is likely to be any issues with it later on. If there is any room in the item for the inserted element to move around, this will only get worse with time, so it is worth making sure that everything fits together well at the beginning.
